Tagscanner itunes album art12/9/2023 ![]() ![]() If I click the cloud download symbol to force the download, I get a physical file /Users/User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Music/Compilations/Number Ones/07 Bad.m4a (it's under "Compilations" instead of "Michael Jackson") The second instance of this track has location "Cloud". Looking at Get Info, the "Removed" track has location of the physical file in my music library, /Users/User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Music/Michael Jackson/Number Ones/07 Bad.m4a Both tracks play so when playing the album I get the double playback and all this mess needs to get cleaned up. I have a lot of "dupes" which look like this - one track has cloud with X through it ("Removed") and a second track has cloud with arrow ("Available for Download" - cloud status says "Purchased"). I just started with Apple Music and turned on Sync Library on both my Mac and my phone. What to do with these Sync library ?dupes My music is local on my mac, previously sync'd with iPhone Manually. I started doing all my conversion and tagging in iTunes to save me an extra step and to be able to use Apple Lossless, but if this keeps up, I'll be going back to my old way of doing things and only using iTunes for adding music to my library while I do the conversion and tagging in other programs.Īre there any ID3 settings specific to Apple Lossless files I should or should not be using, or is there a standalone tagger that can handle Apple Lossless? The problem seems to happen more often when I use Tagscanner than MP3Tag, but it happens in both, and I can never tell which files will do it. Everything I did to it in Tagscanner is just erased. I got back to iTunes to update the library, and right before my eyes, it changes back to JohnDoe-04.m4a. I take it into Tagscanner and pair it up to an album. The converted Apple Lossless file is called JohnDoe.m4a. I encode them into Apple Lossless files, then I use either Tagscanner or MP3Tag to tag the files, but when I go to sync everything (or sometimes even before), iTunes automatically jettisons everything I just did in the tagging programs and goes back to the ripped filename.įor instance, I import a WAV file titled JohnDoe-04.WAV. ![]() This is happening with my vinyl rips, which is the primary way I get music into iTunes. It shows up in iTunes on my main computer where the music itself is held, but not in iTunes on my laptop when I listen remotely or on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. , it was a Sunday and I had a hangover after having a Saturday afternoon watching the Calcutta cup.I'm not sure if this is something that happened because of Windows 11 or whether this is a bug that just hasn't been caught yet within iTunes, but ever since I upgraded, I have noticed that ID3 tracks don't seem to stick to my Apple Lossless files consistently, and artwork is not being uploaded consistently. This took me about four hours for around 900 albums/8000 track note make changes on files on your PC (make a backup first in case things go Pete tong) then load onto usb if you try to edit files on usb it will take longer to save changes to the stick The tagscanner program when selecting to insert picture from file opens the albums folder you are editing from there you can select the art already downloaded. As a note I use windows media player which automatically downloads art and saves as a hidden system file, by de selecting hide system files in file explorer view options you can gain access to them. I found a free program called tagscanner that allows you to load all your music files then select an album at a time, by double clicking the album you select all the tracks from here you add album art and save the change it even allows you to set the size of the art I used 200x200, useful as some art was a lot bigger. There are music ID tag editors available that allow you to edit the information. So how to embed art into individual tracks? ![]() Audio 20 looks for embedded art whereas windows media player and the media players I use show art in the albums file folder. Not a major issue but noticed only four albums on my usb stick had accompanying album art which struck me as odd as on my media players (cowon and fiio) and windows media player all albums and associated singles showed the art.įollowing a bit of googling I found the answer, with the exception of the four albums all the others did not have the art embedded into each track. ![]()
